A weekly seminar on (Systemic Functional Linguistics: An overview) by (Dr Bandar A Muhammad) at English Department
A weekly seminar was presented by (Dr Bandar A Muhammad) at English Department for the teaching staff on Monday 15th of October on (Systemic Functional Linguistics: An overview). Systemic Functional Linguistics is a model of language use analysis that has been extended to cover other fields like images and architecture. In image analysis, Kress and Van Lueween (1996; 2006) proposed that images can perform the same tree functions of language, as laid out by Halliday (1985; 2004). They named the functions: representational, interactive and compositional.
