Kayhan Zrar Ghafoor is currently a tenure-track associate professor with Department of SWENG at Salahaddin University-Erbil. Before that, he was visiting researcher at University Technology Malaysia for 6 months and serving as postdoctoral fellow for 2 years at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received the BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Salahaddin University, the MSc degree in Remote Weather Monitoring from Koya University and the PhD degree in Wireless Networks from University Technology Malaysia in 2003, 2006, and 2011, respectively.He has published over 45 scientific/research papers in ISI/Scopus indexed international journals and conferences. Dr Kayhan authored two  books named “Cognitive Networks: Applications and Deployments” and “Privacy and Cybersecurity in Smartcities”. He is worked as a General Chair of a workshop named Smart Sensor Protocols and Algorithms under The 9th International Conference on Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Networks (MSN-2014) which is held in Hungary. He also served as an Associate Editor, Editorial Board Member and reviewer for numerous prestigious international journals, appeared as a workshop general chair for international workshops and conferences, and worked as a TPC member for more than 45 international conferences including GlobCom and InfoCom. He is the receipt of the UTM Chancellor Award at 48th UTM convocation in 2012.

    Binyad Khaznadar is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Architecture, College of Engineering, University of Salahaddin-Erbil.

    He was the manager of the engineering consulting bureau from 2014-2016. He is now head of quality assurance unit of the college of engineering.

    He got his B.Sc. degree in architecture in 1998 and the master degree in vernacular architecture in 2009. He participated in a number of local and international conferences in Baghdad, Germany, China and the United States of America.

    His papers are published in local and international scientific journals. He has a published book written in Kurdish language, contains essays on a variety of architectural issues.

    He is practicing architecture as a profession since 1998, when he established his design office. His designs include educational, commercial and housing projects, most of them are implemented in Erbil city.

    He worked as an architect in the Ministry of Reconstruction, UN-FAO, and participated in a program submitted to UNESCO for the nomination of Erbil citadel to be within the list of world heritage sites.
