The aim of the Persian department is to specialize the students in Persian language and literature within the four years of study (eight semesters) and after the completion of the required credit hours set by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Persian Language

The purpose behind studying the Persian language is the acquisition of standard Persian currently spoken in Iran; defined and assessed through the four language skills: listening, speaking, writing, and reading. It also includes further studies related to this field such as grammar and
styles of writing.

Persian Literature
The study of Persian literature includes the excellent works of Persian poetry and prose from the rise of Persian literature to the present. It also includes the study of literary sciences such as rhetoric, prosody, rhyme, literary criticism, methodology, literary history, research methods, comparative literature
