A weekly seminar by (Dr. Pakhshan Ibrahim Hamarash and Asst. Lecturer Alan Anwar Hassan) at English Department on (New Instructions and Regulations on the 2022-2023 Teacher Trainees’ Teaching Practicum)

A weekly seminar was presented by (Dr. Pakhshan Ibrahim Hamarash and Asst. Lecturer Alan Anwar Hassan) on Monday 10th of October at English Department for the teaching staff on (New Instructions and Regulations on the 2022-2023 Teacher Trainees’ Teaching Practicum).

The presentation focused on the new instructions and regulations regarding the teaching practicum of the fourth stage students and on the changes made in the process.

 

A Presentation on (Fourth Stage  Teacher Trainees’ Teaching Practicum) to the Fourth Stage Students by the Teaching Practicum Committee and the Head of English Language Department

A Presentation on (Fourth Stage  Teacher Trainees’ Teaching Practicum) was given to the Fourth Stage Students by the Teaching Practicum Committee ( Dr. Pakhshan Ibrahim Hamarash, Dr Asma Abbas Brime and Asst. Lecturer Alan Anwar Hassan) and the Head of English Language Department (Dr. Rawshan Ibrahim Tahir) on Tuesday 11th of October at Abdullah Haddad Convention Hall at College of Education. The presentation dealt with the (Implementing CLT in Teaching Sunrise).

A weekly seminar by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qadir Saeed)

 at English Department on (Grammar Grimlins)

A weekly seminar was presented by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qadir Saeed) on Monday 17th of October at English Department for the teaching staff on (Grammar Grimlins). The presentation which is entitled “Grammar Grimlins” deals with everyday problems in punctuation. This seminar aimed at showing that Grammar Gremlins can help English learners resolve those nagging little grammar questions they encounter. They have to know that their use of English language is one of the standards by which they are measured socially, professionally, and academically.

 

 

Teaching English Language Skills workshop

On Wednesday 19th of October, 2022 a group of English language teaching staff members as well as a group of third stage students were invited for a workshop entitled (Teaching English Language Skills) by the US Consulate in Erbil. The workshop, which was led by Regional English Language Officer Sandra Story, focused on methods of teaching and digital resources available to make English classrooms more student-centered. Certificates of completion were awarded to the participant students and teachers at the end of the workshop.

 

 

A weekly seminar by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Rebin Abdulqader Azeez)

 at English Department on (Creative writing)

A weekly seminar was presented by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Rebin Abdulqader Azeez) on Monday 24th of October at English Department for the teaching staff on (Creative writing). Creative writing is any writing that goes beyond traditional realms of academic writing such as fiction and nonfiction. It is about dealing with thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Infusing narrative craft, plot structure, and unique style are necessary to establish creativity in writing. These are to be highlighted in the seminar on department level in the hope of getting more insights about how to teach this module in the fourth level as an elective subject. Teachers’ perspectives will be taken into accounts.
