Abstract: After the 1991 uprising, the first parliament and government of the Kurdistan Region, the situation of women has seen a significant development, under the influence of the political and social changes that have occurred in the region. The women's movement in the Kurdistan Region has played a significant role in the changes and developments that have taken place in Kurdistan, which have had an impact on strengthening the position of women in the government and authorities of the Kurdistan Region. The situation of women in Kurdistan compared to the situation in other parts of Iraq has made significant progress in terms of women's rights and participation in society, but there are still a lot of challenges to greater change. Women's empowerment is a major driver of changes. Women face those obstacles that has a deep root and are strong due to traditional gender roles and political constraints and conflict, so strengthening legal protection, improving economic opportunities for women and increasing women's political representation as an important area for further development of women's advocacy campaigns, women's resilience and sustained activism in Kurdistan has grown in their struggle to achieve gender equality.
