At the end of February 2025, a festival titled The Role of Geology in Society and Female Hand-Made Ability will be held for students and department staff. The festival will highlight the significance of geology in societal development and celebrate the contributions of women in the field. It will feature exhibitions of hand-made crafts by female geologists, showcasing their skills and creativity. This event aligns with the objectives of SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water), as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals. The festival aims to raise awareness and foster academic discussions on the integral role of geology in society, the empowerment of women in geosciences, and the promotion of sustainable practices.
