Mathematics Department was established in 1968 along with the establishment of the College of Science in Sulaimania University. The duration of study in this department is four academic years for B.Sc.degre. So far , nearly ( ) students were awarded B.Sc. degree.

Jabar Salih Hassan earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Science from the Salahddin University-Erbil in 2002. He received a master’s degree in Mathematical Science – Numerical Analysis from Al-Mustansiriya University, Baghdad, Iraq in 2006 and he became an assistant lecturer in the Mathematics Department, College of Science, Salahddin University in the same year. He was awarded a scholarship from the Iraqi government and he obtained a second master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri, United States of America, in July 2017 and December 2019, respectively.
Jabar Hassan has worked and taught undergraduate levels at the Department of Mathematics, Missouri University of Science and Technology. Jabar does research in Analysis, Applied Mathematics. Reproducing Kernel Hilbert spaces. He is currently a faculty member at the Mathematics Department-College of Science – Salahaddin University – Erbil, Iraq. He has taught undergraduate and graduate levels at Salahaddin and Soran Universities.
