In 8th. Feb. 2025, The scientific trip to Erbil Steel Company, organized by MSc. Karwan and MSc. Shayma, aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of steel production processes and their industrial applications. The primary goal of the trip is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices, allowing students to observe firsthand how theoretical concepts in materials science, engineering, and chemistry are applied in a large-scale manufacturing setting. Students gain valuable insights into the production chain, from raw material processing to the final steel products, while also learning about the company’s quality control measures, environmental management systems, and workplace safety protocols. This practical exposure helps students develop a deeper appreciation for the complexities of industrial operations and inspires them to think critically about innovation and sustainability in the manufacturing sector. The trip aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) lastly, SDG 4 (Quality Education).
