On February 3rd, 2025, Prof. Janan Jabbar Toma presented a seminar titled “Application of Geographical Information System (GIS) in Water Quality Assessment at Kani Qirzhala Landfill, Kurdistan Region” at the Environmental Science and Health Department, College of Science, Salahaddin University.

The seminar focused on utilizing GIS technology to evaluate water quality in the Kani Qirzhala landfill area, highlighting key findings, environmental impacts, and potential solutions for contamination management.

This discussion aligns with the Clean Water and Sanitation objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing water pollution issues and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
