On January 8, 2025, I participated in the Rudaw TV program Barpirsyar (Responsible), where I discussed the detrimental effects of illegal refineries on public health and the environment, particularly in the area near Gwer Road. During the program, we explored the serious environmental hazards posed by unregulated refining activities and their impact on local communities. This discussion directly supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11), which focuses on sustainable cities and communities, SDG 12, which promotes responsible consumption and production, and SDG 13, which calls for urgent action to address climate change and its impacts.Link
