Seminar on UN SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

On February 19, 2025, as part of the Decent Work and Economic Growth Symposium, Lect. Hussein Ahmed Mustafa, Director of the Career Development Center, delivered an insightful seminar on the eighth UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 8), which focuses on fostering sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. During the seminar, he explored key challenges hindering the realization of SDG 8, emphasizing the barriers to fair employment practices, economic inclusion, and labor rights. Additionally, he underscored the critical role of educators in shaping future professionals who can contribute to sustainable employment solutions. Despite advocating for decent work, employment rights, workforce inclusion, and diversity, he noted that the contribution of educators to achieving this goal remains limited and requires further engagement. The seminar served as a thought-provoking session, encouraging discussions on the intersection of academia, policy, and industry in advancing equitable labor practices and sustainable economic growth.
